Hi!  I'm Andrea Walker of Walker Quilt Co.  My husband Josh & I live in the beautiful mountains of Franklin, North Carolina.  I first discovered longarm quilting in 2014 at my local quilt shop.  I had never seen anything like that huge machine before and couldn't wait to see it in action!  I was completely mesmerized as I watched the shop owner, Maxine Ramey, work on her quilt.  A few months later, I completed my very first quilt and wanted to quilt it myself and try out that beast of a machine!  I was so nervous of course, but determined to go for it anyway.  I did, and fell in love!  I have been addicted ever since, purchasing my own Handi Quilter Fusion with ProStitcher a year later.  I jumped right in & starting quilting professionally right away.

In 2017, we had the opportunity to expand our business and open a studio space next door to A Stitch In Time quilt shop. We were able to add 3 other Handi Quilter stand-up longarms and a Sweet 16 sit-down model. This expansion gave us the ability to offer machine rentals and hands-on classes, and a faster turn-around time on our quilting service. So these days that’s where you’ll find me and my helper Finn, the sweetest little Frenchie you’ll ever meet! Here’s a glimpse of our studio space:

I’m at the shop most days, either working on client quilts, teaching classes or helping renters…basically just having lots of quilty fun! I also have a fantastic helper, Sarah Overton. Sarah is a pattern designer (check out her awesome patterns here!), but she’s also at the studio a few days a week, helping me work on quilts for our customers.

Stop by and say hello next time you’re in town - bring us quilt, rent some time and make your own quilty magic, or take a class and learn something new! We love all things quilting and spending time with our fellow quilting friends!
