About Walker Quilt Co. and Andrea Walker
Hi!
I'm Andrea Walker of Walker Quilt Co. My husband Josh & I live in the beautiful mountains of Franklin, North Carolina with our sweet boy, Caleb. I first discovered longarm quilting in 2014 at my local quilt shop. I had never seen anything like that huge machine before and couldn't wait to see it in action! I was completely mesmerized as I watched the shop owner, Maxine Ramey, work on her quilt. A few months later, I completed my very first quilt and wanted to quilt it myself and try out that beast of a machine! I was so nervous of course, but determined to go for it anyway. I did, and fell in love! I have been addicted ever since, purchasing my own Handi Quilter Fusion with ProStitcher a year later. I jumped right in & starting quilting professionally right away.
In 2017, we had the opportunity to expand our business and open a studio space next door to A Stitch In Time quilt shop. We were able to add 3 other Handi Quilter moveable longarm machines and a Sweet 16 sit-down model. This expansion gave us the ability to offer hands-on classes, and a faster turn-around time on our quilting service.
Then, in 2019 we expanded again and became an authorized Handi Quilter retailer! We now have every model of HQ longarm + ProStitchers available in our studio for demo and classes, including the new Amara ST on the Lift table. In addition, we also have a fully stocked retail space with Handi Quilter accessories, Ruby Star Society fabrics and lots more!
Stop by and say hello next time you’re in town - drop off a quilt or take a class and learn something new! We love all things quilting and spending time with our quilting friends!
